What is calendarization and why does it matter for comps?

Calendarization adjusts financial data to a common fiscal year-end (typically the calendar year) so companies with different fiscal year-ends can be compared apples-to-apples. Example: for a company with a June fiscal year-end, NTM as of December = 6 months of FY2024 + 6 months of FY2025.
