How do you calculate diluted shares outstanding using the treasury stock method?

Answer

Start with basic shares outstanding. For each tranche of in-the-money options or warrants: add the shares that would be issued from exercise, then assume the proceeds (strike price × number of options) are used to buy back shares at the current market price.
